Oklahoma City, Okla. --- It was a tough afternoon at the plate for the Pioneers as they dropped both games of Saturday's doubleheader against Mid-America Christian. The Pioneers suffered a tough 1-0 loss in game one, then the Evangels secured an 8-0 five-inning run-rule win in game two.

Despite the two losses, the Pioneers have clinched their spot in the 2025 Softball Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament.

GAME ONE
Â
Game one was a pitchers dual between the Pioneers and Evangels, but the Evangels downed the Pioneers 1-0 with a fourth inning RBI single being the lone run scored in the contest.

Adrianna Armstrong got the start for the Pioneers in game one, and she gave the Pioneers every opportunity to win the game with her stellar performance. Armstrong threw 6.0 innings, allowing the one run, two walks, and four strikeouts.

Brooklyn Araujo finished 2 for 3 with a double.
Berkley Bradley went 1 for 2 with a triple and a walk.
Mikenzi Carlo went 1 for 1 with a single.
Amber Poorbaugh finished 1 for 4 with a single.

GAME TWO
Â
The offensive woes unfortunately continued for the Pioneers in game two as they were once again held scoreless by the Evangels.
Â
MACU scored two runs in each of the first three innings followed by one run in each of the last two innings to earn the 8-0 five inning run-rule win over the Pioneers in game two.

The Pioneers were only able to notch three hits in game two – one each by
Arianna Zubia,
Mikenzi Carlo, and
Cayman Ivins.

The Pioneers will conclude their 2025 road schedule on Monday, April 21
st when they take on the Tigers of Central Christian College in a make-up doubleheader from games that were postponed two weeks ago. The doubleheader will take place in Oklahoma City, and game one is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.
