PLAINVIEW, Texas – Wayland Baptist Men's Basketball senior forward Jordan Logan has been named the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Defensive Player of the Week following an impressive defensive showing in the Pioneers' first two games of the 2026-27 season against New College of Florida and No. 13 Ave Maria University.
The 6-foot-8 senior from St. Louis, Missouri, made his presence felt on both ends of the floor, totaling 12 rebounds, seven steals, and four blocked shots across the two contests. Logan averaged 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game while helping the No. 24 Pioneers open their season with a 1-1 record.
In Wayland's season-opening 82-65 victory over New College of Florida on October 26, Logan recorded six rebounds, three steals, and one blocked shot. His defensive presence helped the Pioneers hold the Mighty Banyans to just 22 first-half points and 35.5 percent shooting for the game.
Logan followed that performance with another standout defensive effort against No. 13 Ave Maria on October 27, finishing with four steals, three blocked shots, and six rebounds. His defensive contributions helped spark Wayland's furious second-half comeback, as the Pioneers outscored the Gyrenes 45-32 after halftime before falling just short, 82-81.
Through the opening two games, Logan leads the Pioneers in total rebounds and blocked shots and is averaging a team-high 3.5 steals per contest. His ability to protect the rim, disrupt passing lanes, and secure defensive rebounds has made him a key contributor to Wayland's early-season defensive efforts.
