KANSAS CITY, MO --- The Wayland Baptist Pioneers have been selected as a 7-seed out of the Naismith Quadrant in the upcoming 2026 NAIA Men's Basketball National Tournament where they will play the Opening Round in Chandler, Arizona, per the NAIA offices.
The Pioneers earned the 7-seed after finishing the 2025-2026 regular season with a 23-7 overall record and 16-6 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. Their opponent in the Opening Round will be 10-seed Carroll (Mont.) out of the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Carroll (Mont.) finished the regular season with a 20-9 overall record and 17-5 in CCC play.
The other two teams in the Pioneers quadrant will be 2-seed Arizona Christian and 15-seed Corban (Ore.). Arizona Christian finished the regular season with a 22-7 overall record and 13-3 in GSAC play, while Corban (Ore.) finished with an overall record of 17-14 and 10-10 in CCC play.
The Chandler, Arizona quadrant will be played on the campus of Arizona Christian University with First Round games being played on March 13th. The Pioneers will face Carroll (Mont.) at 2:30 PM MT.
