High School Awards/Achievements: Lettered in football two years and powerlifting one year at Plainview High School

Why did you choose to come to Wayland and represent the Pioneers? I grew up in Plainview, so Wayland has always been home. I always felt that there wasn’t anything here for me until the football and wrestling programs came in. After enrolling I realized that the education and environment are the real treasure at Wayland. The Sports are just an added blessing.

How did you get started wrestling and how old were you? I played football in high school and after graduation I picked up combative sports to stay active. That led me to MMA which brought me to wrestling. I was 24 years young.

What has been your proudest athletic achievement to date? I won a silver medal at the 2012 Pan-American games in Foz Do Iguaca, Brazil in K-1 kickboxing as an amateur, and I became a professional in MMA in August 2013.

What do you feel like you bring to your team, both athletically and personally? Mental toughness and maturity. I work hard and I feel that it’s contagious. I’m also a leader.

What are you goals for the future after college? I want to have an impact on this world. I want to work, raise a family and be a good influence to as many people as possible.
