I am from El Paso, Texas and have been at Wayland Baptist for 6 years now. I first got here in fall of 2018 and finished my playing career in spring of 2023. I was blessed enough to be a part of the program for 5 years and now continue a new career as a coach. My original plan was to be a sports broadcaster but God had other plans for me and felt that this was my calling and I answered the call.
I believe being a part of the program for 5 years under Coach Bass and Coach Weldon as helped me as a coach because I know the program and coaches very well and I know the expectations and have experience which in the end helps not only the coaching staff but the players as well.
It's ironic because my dad is a coach as well and was my coach growing up so God has a sense of humor when it comes to things like that. But the lessons I learned from him helped me to grow as an athlete and as a person and I am so glad he did what he did for me and my teammates.
I recently earned my Bachelor's degree in Media Communications with a minor in coaching in 2023, and am currently working on a Master's degree in Education with a specialization in sports administration and management.
I love Wayland and am blessed to have called it home for the past 6 years. The people here are amazing and very great individuals and I could not see myself anywhere else but here because this is where God led me to be and call my 2nd home.
