Addison Herbert is joining the Wayland staff after a three-year stint at Southwestern University. Herbert helped guide the Pirates to two SCAC Tournament appearances. In his three seasons, Addison coached and assisted in the recruitment of seven All-Conference Honorees, and two All-Freshmen recipients.
He attended college at Ole Miss to be a team manager and pursue a career in college coaching. As a freshman, Herbert earned a walk-on spot on the basketball team for the 2014-2015 team that made an NCAA Tournament appearance. He spent the next three seasons as the team manager, producing two 20-win seasons and NBA player Terence Davis. Herbert received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management in 2018 from Ole Miss.
Coach Herbert served as a graduate assistant at Angelo State University in the 2018-19 season, assisting in a 20-win season, and an NCAA Tournament appearance. He received his Master’s Degree in Coaching, Sports and Recreation, and Fitness Administration from Angelo State University in 2020.

Addison attended Georgetown High School and was a key member of the 2012-13 Regional finalist team as a junior and the 30-win Co-District Championship team as a senior. As a senior, he was named All-District First Team, Team Offensive MVP, and All-CenTex by Austin sportswriters.
