Adrian Davila, a native of Orlando, Fla., joined the Pioneer basketball staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2019-20 season.
He joins the Pioneers after spending last season as a graduate assistant at NCAA Division II Midwestern State University, a member of the Lone Star Conference. At MSU, Davila had a major role in individual skill development, helping to develop JaJuan Starks and Josh Wallace to All-LSC honors. He also functioned as the director of video services and assisted monitoring player academics and daily operations of the program. He spent this summer working several basketball camps at Texas Tech, Rice and Houston.
Prior to joining the Mustangs, Davila was heavily involved in the high school basketball scene in Central Florida. he was an assistant director and coach for top Florida travel teams, including Team Parsons/CP25 and Q6 All-Stars, while spending seven seasons on the sideline (2011-2018) for area high schools as an assistant and head coach, including Lake Highland Prep where he won two state championships and assisted in developing McDonald’s All-American and future North Carolina point guard Joel Berry. He also spent time as a lead skills trainer with Orlando Hoops, Inc from 2012-15.
Davila graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., and is pursuing his master’s degree in Sports Administration from Midwestern State. He is the son of Armando and Maritza Davila.
