Tom Harp

Tom Harp has been at the helm of the men’s golf team since 2001 and the women’s golf team since 2024. His team's have been ranked inside the top 20 for 23 years straight. He's made 21 trips to the NAIA National Championships, including finishing 2nd in 2007 and 3rd in 2025. His Men's team is a 2-Time NCCAA National Champions(2023, 2024). He's received numerous awards: 2x NCCAA National Coach of the Year(2023, 20224), 3x SAC Team Champions(2014, 2023, 2025), 9x SAC Coach of the Year, multiple Region VI Coach of the Year awards, and GCAA Regional Coach of the Year. His team's are also 2x Academic National Champions(2020, 2022) and 12x NAIA All-Academic Team awards.

During Harp's tenure, the Pioneers are one of only four teams to have been ranked #1 in the Nation the entire year (2014). They've won multiple big tournaments over the #1, #2 and #3 teams in the country such as the 2020 Innisbrook Invite, TPC San Antonio Shoot-Out (5x Champs), the 2025 The Battle, the 2007 Red Tiger at Trump National Doral, the Mid-South Invite at Sandcreek G.C. (4x Champs), and the 2007 Wildcat Classic.

Tom has been married to Maury Harp for 29 years. They have two children. Megan Harp, 28 lives in Lubbock, and Jaden Harp, 18 starting his college career here Wayland and playing JV Basketball.
