In the summer of 2024, Daniel De Mello became a graduate assistant coach for the Wayland Baptist men's soccer team.

During his tenure with the Oklahoma Panhandle State University men's soccer team, which ran from fall 2020 to spring 2024, De Mello was named captain and won the coveted title of "Men's Soccer Player Sooner Athletic Conference of the Year OPSU 2022." De Mello earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in May 2024.

Born and raised in the UK, soccer was a significant part of De Mello’s life and where he represented numerous respected teams and groups like Hampshire U18’s during his career before arriving Stateside.

De Mello attended Wayland to get his Master of Science in Business Analytics and to obtain useful coaching experience from the players, coaches, and program. De Mello hopes to open his own soccer academy and advance through the college coaching ranks in the future.
