Remuro Henry

Remuro Henry is the assistant coach for the Pioneer track and field team. Henry is a graduate of Choice Learning Academy in Miami, Fla., and went on to run for Barton Community College as a walk-on. There, Henry ran the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 4x100m and 4x400m. During his sophomore year he dropped his 400m time from 48.88 to 46.61. He took fourth place at the NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and was also part of the team that claimed the 4x400meter relay title. Henry then ran for the University of Oklahoma where he helped the men's team clinch the Big 12 indoor track and field title. After graduating from OU, Henry went on to compete in the Olympics for the U.S. Virgin Islands. He ran alongside his cousin, Tabarie Henry, and both have held national records.
After running for his country and prior to joining Wayland's track and field coaching staff, Henry was a member of the Coffeyville (Kan.) Junior College coaching staff where he worked sprinters, hurdlers and mid-distance runners. During his tenure at Coffeyville, Henry coached many All-American runners, including Andre Degrasse, Angelo Goss and Ro'Derick spears, who would go onto to begin and compete at major university programs.
