James Hannan joined the Wayland Baptist University swimming and diving program as an assistant coach for his alma mater prior to the 2015-16 season.  He came to Wayland after working in the financial industry for over 15 years. During that time he also served as a USA swim official and NCAA official for several years as well as volunteered at clubs in Southern California and Arkansas.
Since the swim program’s inaugural season in 2013, Hannan has volunteered in numerous capacities. He is married to Wayland’s Head Swim Coach Alyson Edoff Hannan, and they have worked side by side on the deck for more than five years. Hannan brings an administrative background that will be a huge asset to the organization of the program and will continue to help the program and the departments grow and thrive.
Hannan earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from WBU in 2015. The Hannans have three dogs, Max, Speare and Jeri.
