Liana, from Puyallup, Wash., took first place in the 143-pound class when the 10th-ranked Pioneers competed at the Hastings Open in Nebraska. She won by 12-2 tech fall in the quarterfinals, by 4-2 decision in the semifinals and by fall (2:28) in the first-place match.
