At the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, Wayne was named the men's Outstanding Performer, as selected by the games committee. He took first place in both the long jump (24 feet, 4 1/4 inches) and triple jump (season-best 50 feet 11 1/2 inches.) Coach Rohan Thompson: "Wayne is just an outstanding athlete. To win the long jump and then come back the next day and win the triple is remarkable."
