Hawkins, a senior from Denver City, is the SAC Attacker of the Week for the sixth time this year after averaging 4.4 kills and a hitting percentage of .360 over an 11-game, three-match span that saw the Pioneers lose to NCAA Division II West Texas A&M and collect wins against Mid-America Christian and conference rival Oklahoma City, in which Shahala injured her ankle in the first set and continued to play, finishing with 19 kills and a .410 hitting percentage. "It was the most courageous thing she's done in her career," Coach Jim Giacomazzi said. Hawkins is  No. 2 in the NAIA in kills per game (4.9), No. 4 in hitting percentage (0.398), and No. 9 in total blocks (133).
