Paxton led Wayland to an 8-5 win March 7 over NCAA Division II’s sixth-ranked Lubbock Christian, giving up just one hit and two runs (one earned) with six strikeouts and four walks over six innings. Four days later he threw 1 2/3 innings in a Sooner Athletic Conference home game against Southwestern Christian. Paxton is 3-0 on the season. Wayland will play six games at the Tucson Invitational beginning Tuesday.
