Austin, a 6-foot freshman from Canyon, hit .462 (6-of-13) as the Pioneers split doubleheaders with New Mexico Highlands and Bacone. He had two triples and one double, drew three walks and scored seven runs. He collected three RBIs and had an .846 slugging percentage.
