Paul, a first-year collegiate golfer from Germany, captured the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament championship by shooting a 4-under 212 (72-72-68) at Gaillardia Country Club in Oklahoma City. His first collegiate win came against an impressive field of some of the top golfers in the nation, including from teams ranked No. 1 (Oklahoma City) and No. 2 (Texas Wesleyan), as well as teammate Andrew Williamson who is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA. It is the second time in history a WBU golfer has won a conference individual title. Paul led Wayland to a second-place team finish.
