Tamyra finished second in the 143-pound division at the ASICS National Championships on Saturday in Oklahoma City. It's the highest finish for a WBU female at a national meet. The sophomore from Katy went 4-1, falling to the champion in the semifinals before winning the challenger match. Coach Johnny Cobb: “It was just outstanding...just excellent. She did really well." The coach said Mensah's showing “opened a lot of people's eyes who didn't know we had that level of competitor at Wayland.”
