Frank Wallace

A native of Omaha, Neb., Frank Wallace came to Wayland track & field in August 2019 from Coe College (Iowa) to serve as assistant coach overseeing sprints, hurdles and jumps. 

While at Coe College, Wallace coached the sprints/hurdles group that accounted for all four of Coe's all-conference honors and 24 of the team's 30 points at the conference championship meet. His athletes scored in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 400mH, 4x1 and 4x4 events. 

Wallace spent two seasons at Coe after two years as a graduate assistant at Southwest Minnesota State University. During his two years there, Wallace coached  and coordinated strength and conditioning programs for short sprinters, long sprinters, hurdlers, horizontal jumpers and vertical jumpers. He received his Masters of Science in Physical Education: Coaching Philosophy, with an emphasis in Coaching. 

Prior to becoming a graduate assistant, Wallace studied at Briar Cliff University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management and was a scholarship recipient on the track and field team. 

As a college athlete, Wallace competed in the 55m, 60m, 100-meter dash, 4x200 relay and anchored the 4x100 relay. As a junior, the 4x100 earned Second Team All-American honors and broke the school record with a time of 41.33. As a senior, the 4x100 meter relay team qualified for the NAIA Championships where they set a new school record with a time of 41.08, finishing 10th at the national meet and earned Second Team All-American honors again. In his four years, Wallace was a four-year letterwinner, three-time NAIA national qualifier, and two-time Great Plains Athletic Conference champion. 

Wallace is the youngest of four siblings.
