It was Senior Day at Hilliard Field on Friday afternoon, so it was only fitting that Pioneer senior T.J. Nolen picked up the only Wayland goal of the day as Oklahoma Baptist swept a conference doubleheader, 5-0 in the women's game and 6-1 in the men's contest.
Nolen's goal, his second of the season, came after he intercepted a pass right in front of the Bison net at the 76:14 mark. It followed up Nolen's only other shot of the match.
The Wayland men got 13 shots off during the contest, led by Colton Givens with three. Givens and Aidan Mooney got the only other shots on goal for the Pioneers.
Andre Costa got a penalty kick past WBU goalkeeper Zach Baxley just two-and-half minutes into the match. The Bison scored two more goals in the first period, and added three more in the second to pick up their second Sooner Athletic Conference victory of the season.
In the women's game, the Pioneers outshot the OBU women 12-11, but forced the Lady Bison goalkeeper into making just four saves on those shots. Senior Jenessa Hunter had perhaps the best chance for Wayland midway through the second period.
Staci Long and Michelle Enriquez led WBU with three shots each.
The visitors were led by Courtney Anderson who had three goals and an assist in the contest. OBU improved its record to 10-6 overall and 5-3 in conference play.
