PLAINVIEW, Tex. --- The Wayland Baptist men suffered their fourth straight shutout Tuesday evening, dropping a 3-0 decision to the Evangels from Mid-America Christian University.
The first half was a defensive battle with a total of seven shots taken, four by MACU. The Evangels put two of their four shots on net, scoring on Benny Olvera's unassisted goal 38 minutes in.
The visitors generated more offense in the second half, attempting 13 shots, scoring on two of the three shots they put on net.
Abeni Yosef scored the game's prettiest goal taking a long pass from Kyle Miller and heading it into the net.
Carlos Mellado led the Pioneers with three shots, one of which bounced off the post. Cody McClary and Guillermo Villarreal each recorded two shots.
The Pioneers are now 3-9 on the season and 0-6 in league play. MACU improves to 5-6-2 and 2-4.
