Wayland hosting Coca-Cola Classic

Wayland Baptist volleyball is hosting the Coca-Cola Classic with a total of six teams playing 10 matches over the next two days at Hutcherson Center.

Besides the Pioneers, other teams participating in the event are Texas Wesleyan, St. Thomas of Houston, University of the Southwest (N.M.) and Northwestern Ohio.

Five matches are scheduled Friday and Saturday, scheduled two hours apart beginning at 11 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.

Wayland (2-2), ranked the equivalent of 34^th in the NAIA Preseason Top 25, takes on St. Thomas in its first match at 3 p.m. Friday before meeting Northwestern Ohio at 5. On Saturday, the Pioneers go against fellow Sooner Athletic Conference member Texas Wesleyan at 1 p.m. before wrapping up the event against University of the Southwest at 5.

Admission is $10 for a tournament pass, or for single matches $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Live stats will be provided for all matches, with Wayland's contests also being streamed live for free through www.wbuathletics.com.
