For the second time in three weeks, Wayland Baptist senior
Megan Sharratt has been named Sooner Athletic Conference Attacker of the Week.
Sharratt, a 6-foot middle from Albuquerque, N.M., had 10 kills, no errors on 15 attacks and hit a season-high .557 in the Pioneers' lone outing last week, a 3-0 win over University of the Southwest (N.M.). Sharratt also tied a team record with seven service aces. That record has been reached numerous times, most recently by Kimberli Harger against Huston-Tillotson in 2011.
Sharratt was honored as the first SAC Attacker of the Week two weeks ago.
The SAC Setter of the Week is Sasha Robinson of Texas Wesleyan. The junior from Ozark, Mo., averaged 6.33 assists/game in match wins over Our Lady of the Lake and Huston-Tillotson as the Rams remained unbeaten in eight matches this year.
Â
The SAC Defensive Player of the Week is Dani Chase of Oklahoma City University. The senior libero from Yukon, Okla., averaged 6.94 digs/game over a 16-game span in matches against Midland (Neb.), Grandview (Iowa), Baker (Kan.), and Tabor (Kan.). Chase set a single-match record against Midland when she accumulated 36 digs.
Â
Sharratt and the Pioneers (6-2) open SAC play at 7 p.m. Friday at home against Mid-America Christian (1-4) before hosting USAO (1-4) at 11 a.m. Saturday.
