Hector Romero has been named Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

After scoring a program-record five goals with an assist in the team's season-opening 11-0 win over Ecclesia College (Ark.), Romero followed that with a two-goal, one-assist outing in a 4-3 victory over Arizona Christian.
Romero scored twice just 3½ minutes apart, first at the 13:30 mark when he alertly beat the Firestorm defender to the ball on a lazy kickback to the ACU goalkeeper, then on a rocket shot from 30 yards out into the top of the goal on the far post.
A 5-foot-8 senior midfielder from Manteca, Calif., Romero leads the NAIA in goals per game (3.5) and points per game (8.0) and is fourth in total goals (7).
He again is eligible for NAIA National Player of the Week honors, an award he won last week to become the first such award winner in the history of WBU soccer.
Romero and the Pioneers (2-0) next take the pitch at 4 p.m. Thursday against Texas-Permian Basin.
