Marco Magnoli has been named Sooner Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Magnoli was recognized after leading the Pioneers to a 2-0 victory over Science & Arts of Oklahoma on Saturday in Chickasha, Okla. The 6-foot-1 senior midfielder from Buenos Aires, Argentina, scored both of goals within eight minutes of each other in the first half.

It was Magnoli's third two-goal match of the season, and second straight. He has six multi-goal matches during his two years at WBU. Magnoli now has a team-best eight goals in nine matches.

It is the second time Magnoli has been named SAC Offensive Player of the Week. The first time also came after WBU faced Science & Arts last season when Magnoli scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 Pioneer victory.

A transfer from Essex County College in New Jersey, Magnoli was named All-SAC 1
st Team last season when he scored 12 goals and recorded six assists for 30 points.

Magnoli and the Pioneers (7-3-2, 3-0-2 SAC) next host third-ranked, unbeaten Mid-America Christian (13-0, 5-0) at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hilliard Field. Wayland is in third place in the SAC standings behind Oklahoma-Panhandle State (9-1-1-, 5-0-0) and MACU.
