Wayland Baptist's season-opening men's and women's soccer matches in Arizona have been cancelled.
The Pioneers were scheduled to play Arizona Christian and Ottawa, Ariz., next week in Glendale and Surprise, Ariz. None of those matches will be played.
The WBU men's team still is scheduled to scrimmage Western Texas College at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 in Snyder. The Pioneers' home match against West Texas A&M at 7 p.m. Sept. 1 will serve as the team's official regular-season opener. The reserve team opens its season by hosting Tapatio FC Amarillo at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20.
The WBU women will open their season by hosting University of the Southwest at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3.
