Wayland Baptist will host a pair of Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal games Thursday after both the Flying Queens and Pioneers earned first-round byes.

Mid-America Christian University is the only other SAC school that will host two quarterfinal games.

The No. 10 Flying Queens (28-3), who claimed the SAC regular-season title for the fourth time and the second time outright, will take the floor at 6 p.m. Thursday against the winner between a first-round game between eighth-seeded Southwestern Christian (15-13) and ninth-seeded SAGU (10-18).

The Pioneers (17-12) will play their quarterfinal match against fifth-seeded John Brown (18-12) or 12
th-seeded Langston (1-26), which meet Tuesday night in Siloam Springs, Okla. The Pioneers wound up as the No. 4 seed after a strong second half of the conference season that saw Wayland post a 9-2 record. That tied top-seeded Science & Arts of Oklahoma and third-seeded Oklahoma City as the best in the league.

Winners of quarterfinal matches advance to the semifinals, which along with the championship games will be hosted by MACU in Oklahoma City on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 28 and March 1.
