HOBBS, N.M. – Two winless women's soccer teams went head-to-head here Saturday afternoon, and when it was over it was the University of the Southwest notching its first victory, 1-0 over Wayland Baptist.
Wayland (0-3-2) couldn't generate much offensively, taking just seven shots, none of which were on-goal. USW (1-2) got off 11 shots, three on-goal.

Ajacia Mojica hit the cross bar late in the second half.
Bruna Moureira was the only Pioneer with more than one shot as she took two.
Kanade Morita logged all 90 minutes in goal for Wayland, recording two saves.
The Pioneers play their next two matches at home – against Huston-Tillotson at 5 p.m. next Saturday then Arlington Baptist on Sept. 22 – before opening Sooner Athletic Conference play at Mid-America Christian on Sept. 27.
