OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer opener for Wayland Baptist resulted in a 0-0 tie as the Pioneers finished scoreless with Mid-America Christian here Tuesday.
Wayland (1-3-3, 0-0-1 SAC) got off nine shots against MACU (1-7-1, 0-0-1), which fired 24 shots against Pioneer keeper
Kanade Morita, who stopped all five on-goal offerings, all in the second half.
WBU finished with two shots on-goal, one each by
Natalie Terry and
Bruna Moureira, both in the first half.
Francisca Gonzalez led the Pioneers with three shots.
Next up for the Pioneers is a home match against No. 14 John Brown (4-3) at 1 p.m. Friday. The Golden Eagles line up against Oklahoma-Panhandle State in Goodwell, Okla., on Wednesday.
