D'Michael Bellfield has been named Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
A 6-foot-9 junior center from Palestine, Texas, Bellfield helped the Pioneers to a pair of home conference wins over Southwestern Assemblies of God University (81-64) and University of North Texas at Dallas (86-67). Bellfield scored 20 points in 23 minutes each game, shooting 64 percent from the field including 82 percent (9-of-11) against UNT Dallas.
He averaged 8½ rebounds and against the Trailblazers was one rebound short of his second double-double of the season.
Bellfield is a first-year transfer who played previously at Weatherford Junior College and Oklahoma Baptist University. He is second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.6 ppg. He has scored in double figures in eight of the last nine games.
Bellfield is the Pioneers' first SAC Player of the Week this season.

th in the NAIA, Wayland (13-6, 8-5 SAC) will be looking to win its fourth straight game for the first time this season when the Pioneers play at Mid-America Christian at 7:45 p.m. Thursday in Oklahoma City. WBU defeated the Evangels in Plainview on Dec. 3, 78-68.
