Plainview, Texas – The Wayland Baptist women's volleyball team has qualified for the Sooner Athletic Conference Volleyball Championships beginning this evening after winning five of their final seven matches.
The Pioneers are the No. 5 seed and will travel to Oklahoma City to take on No. 4 seed Mid-America Christian tonight with the match set to begin at 7:30 p.m. Wayland Baptist enters the postseason with a record of 14-13 overall and an 11-9 mark in conference play while the Evangels carry an overall record of 19-10 and 15-5 in league action.
Mid-America Christian won both regular season matches by scores of 3-0 and 3-2.
The winner will advance to the semifinals Friday evening at Southwestern Assemblies of God with the match slated to begin at 4 p.m. The Championship contest will take place on Saturday, Nov. 11, starting at noon.
