Clint Galyean has been named HoopDirt.com NAIA National Coach of the Week, presented by Just Play Solutions.
Galyean, in his second season at Wayland, was honored after leading the Pioneers to three home wins, including a 90-80 victory over third-ranked Langston (Okla.) on Saturday. WBU started out the week by defeating Oklahoma-Panhandle State, 103-67, on Tuesday then rolled over Central Christian (Kan.) on Thursday, 82-52.
All three wins came at Hutcherson Center, where the Pioneers are 12-1 this season.
Wayland, winners of eight straight, is 19-6 overall and 13-5 in the Sooner Athletic Conference for second place. WBU is ranked the equivalent of No. 39 in the NAIA, with new Top 25 rankings due out Wednesday.
Wayland's win Saturday gave Galyean his 100
th career victory.
Galyean now is eligible for the HoopDirt.com NAIA National Coach of the Year.
