Gabreya Garcia, a 5-foot-9 outside/middle hitter from Tolleson, Ariz., has signed to play volleyball at Wayland Baptist.
Garcia attended Bourgade Catholic High School in Phoenix where she broke three school records for kills, blocks and kills per match, was voted 3A region defensive player of the year and was named one of the state's best middle blockers.
She attended South Mountain Community College where she recorded season-highs of eight kills, six blocks, four service aces and two solo blocks. She then attended Glendale Community College, helping her team finish second in the Region 1 Division 2 championship match.
Garcia joins three other recent signees for Pioneer volleyball: outside hitter Sloane Light of Idalou High School, defensive specialist/right side hitter Hannah Souter of Hobbs, N.M., setter/defensive specialist Kaitlyn Gunn of Rio Rancho, N.M., and outside hitter Selma Sutaj of Podgorica, Montenegro.
