The Pioneers continued conference play against MACU. Both teams came into today's matchup tied for third place in the conference with records of 5-2. At the end, the Evangels shutout the Pioneers 3-0.
"MACU is a strong team, well balanced offensively." said Coach
Jim Giacomazzi.
Lena Stockhammer and Sawyer Franz were the main contributors on the front row. Sawyer led the Evangels with 13 kills, while Stockhammer was right behind her with 12 kills. The Pioneers were led by
Fade Ogunbade with 11 kills.
"Our challenge today was serve receive. That skill is usually one of our greatest strengths." said Giacomazzi.
The Pioneers Volleyball team will be on the road for the next two weekends. First, they head to Waxahachie to play Southwestern Assemblies of God University Friday Night at 7pm. Then, the following day they take a trip to Fort Worth to face Texas Wesleyan University who lead the conference with an 8-0 record. That game will take place at 1pm.
The Pioneers next home game will be on October 13
th. They will face Central Christian University. The following day, on October 14th, they will face Langston.
