Oklahoma City, OK – The Wayland Baptist women's soccer team traveled to Oklahoma City to take on the Oklahoma City University Stars Tuesday. The OCU Stars came into the game undefeated in Sooner Athletic Conference play with a record of 2-0-1.
The Pioneers struck first on a goal by
Camila Zavala in the 30
th minute. The goal was the first of the season for Zavala. However, the Stars scored goals in the 37
th, 44
th & 46
th minutes to take a 3-1 win.
In addition to the goal by Zavala,
Hayde' Gallardo and
Elaina Barrientes each had a shot on goal.
Ava Kent made saves on eight of the eleven shots on goal that she faced.
The Pioneers return home Tuesday, October 15 to play the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma. The game will be at Hilliard Field at 5:00 PM.
