Oklahoma City - #1 seed Mid-America Christian played host to #5 seed Wayland Baptist in the semifinals of the Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Tournament Saturday evening. The Evangels ended the season for the Pioneers with a 3-0 victory.
Wayland Baptist could manage only 5 shots and 1 shot on goal compared to 21 shots and 9 shots on goal for MACU.
The Pioneers trailed 1-0 at halftime as the Evangels scored a goal in the 25
th minute.
The score remained 1-0 until MACU scored goals in the 75
th and 79
th minutes to extend their lead to 3-0.
Francis Motsi had 2 shots and the lone shot on goal for the Pioneers. Vito Zytikyan,
Jamol Williams and
Elijah Gonzalez had the other shots for Wayland Baptist.
Alex Neri had six saves on the night.
The Pioneers close out the 2024 season with a record of 9-7-4.
