Plainview - The WBU men's soccer team moved their season record above .500 with a 4-0 shut out of the Arlington Baptist University Patriots.
The Pioneers out shot Arlington Baptist 19-3 and scored two goals in each half to secure the victory.Â
Jamol Williams opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a goal assisted by
Aaron Debus. Williams scored again in the 20th minute, assisted by
Dario Catalan.
In the second half,
Francis Motsi scored a goal in the 48th minute to put the Pioneers up 3-0.
Jamol Williams assisted on the Motsi goal. Williams scored for the third time of the afternoon in the 51st minute. His last goal was assisted by
Val Gonzalez.Â
Rashawn Davis and
Dario Catalan each contributed to the attack with two shots on goal and
Jorge Jaimes added a shot on goal.
Louis Pryce and
Alex Neri both played in goal for Wayland and contributed to the shut out win.
A total of twenty Pioneers saw action.
The men's soccer team plays Sul Ross State University on Tuesday, September 24 at 4:30 in Plainview. This is the final tune-up before Sooner Athletic Conference play starts next Saturday.
