The Lady Pioneer soccer team returned home to face the University of Houston-Victoria Saturday morning after a road trip to Hobbs. Wayland played well against the Lady Jaguars but fell 1-0.
Meagan Picon led the way offensively with two shots on goal.
Raelyn Stone started in goal for WBU and stopped 9 of the 10 shots she faced.
UH-V took the lead in the 29th minute on a goal by Kyleigh Spree-Kolos and that held up up for the rest of the game.
Wayland returns to action Wednesday with another home game against Sul Ross State University. The first kick is at 2:00 at Hilliard Field.
