MARSHALL, MO. --- The 9
th ranked Wayland Baptist Women's Wrestling team travelled to Marshall, Missouri to compete against a loaded field at the 2025 Missouri Valley Open.
Faith Wooley (1
st place),
Mercy Adekuoroye (2
nd place), and
Mariah Dillard (6
th placed) each placed in the Top 7 of their respective weight classes.
Wooley, a Portland, Oregon native, was outstanding at the Missouri Valley Open, taking home first place in the 235 pound division.
A native of Akure, Nigeria, Adekuoroye had a terrific showing for Wayland Baptist at the Missouri Valley Open after taking 2
nd place in the 160 pound division.
Dillard, a native of Azle, Texas, claimed 6
th place in the 117 pound division. This was one of the freshman's best performances on the young 2025-26 season.

2025 MISSOURI VALLEY OPEN RESULTS
- Calli Connally (103 pound division) lost her opening round match, but she responded by winning her next three matches, two via Byes and one by way of a Technical Fall,10-0, before falling in her fourth match in the consolation bracket.
- Aurie Sneed (110 pound class) received an opening round Bye before falling in the second round. Sneed won her next three matches (one via Bye, one with a Fall, and one via Technical Fall, 13-2) before falling in the consolation bracket.
- Mariah Dillard (117 pound class) won her first four matches before falling short in the 5th place match. Dillard's wins all came by way of Falls.
- Tess Barnett (124 pound division) won her first three matches with Falls before falling short in the fourth round.
- Julianne Marquez (124 pound division) lost her opening round match before falling short in her first match in the consolation bracket.
- Danyl Pippin (131 pound class) lost her opening round match before falling short in her first match in the consolation bracket.
- Avery Shinkle (138 pound division) lost her opening round match before falling short in her first match in the consolation bracket.
- Mercy Adekuoroye (160 pound class) won her first five matches before falling short in the championship match, giving her second place in the class. Adekuoroye received Byes in the first two rounds before winning her next three matches by way of Technical Falls, all 10-0.
- Mohagany Casel (160 pound class) won her first three matches before falling short in the fourth round. She one win via decision, 6-1, and two by way of Technical Falls, both 11-0.
- Payton Sholander (180 pound division) won her opening round match before falling short in the second round. Sholander then won three matches in the consolation bracket, one via Bye and two by way of Falls.
- Ambre Chevreau (180 pound division) lost her opening round match, but she responded by winning four matches in the consolation bracket (two via Byes and two via Technical Falls, 10-0).
- Faith Wooley (235 pound class) dominated her way to a first place finish in her division after winning all three matches she competed in. Wooley's wins came by way of two Falls and one Decision, 15-6.

th when they take on #7 Doane University in Crete, Nebraska.
