Neri Garners SAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Honors

OKLAHOMA CITY --- Wayland Baptist senior goalkeeper Alex Neri has been named this week's Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after his stellar performance between the pipes in the Pioneers' 1-0 victory against Oklahoma Panhandle State in their 2025 regular season finale.

A native of Frosinone, Italy, Neri was spectacular in the Pioneers' 1-0 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State, finishing with a clean sheet and seven saves. Neri faced multiple point-blank looks from the Aggies, but he kept everything out of the Pioneer net and helped them earn a host bid for the 2025 SAC Men's Soccer Quarterfinals.

Neri and the Pioneers will host 5-seed Nelson University in the SAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday, November 4^th at 6:00 PM at JV Hilliard Field.
