Glendale, AZ – The Pioneer women's beach volleyball team went 1-1 in the second day of action at Victory Lane Sports Complex hosted by Arizona Christian University. Wayland Baptist lost 5-0 to #2 ranked Arizona Christian and came back to record the first win in program history as they defeated Benedictine Mesa 3-2.

Coach Lucy Mahelova shared these comments, "Selma & Emily, Averi & Luiza and Frida & Lilou came up with wins, all in three sets and clinched the first ever program win for the Pioneers against a team that lost 2-3 to both Vanguard (current national champion) and Arizona Christian (#2 in the nation)."
Mahelova continued, "This was an amazing tournament for us because the girls and coaching staff see that we are right there with the best in the nation."
