A Season to Remember for Flying Queens Comes to an End in Second Round of NAIA Women's Basketball Championships

Ashland, Ore. --- The 2024-25 season has come to an end for the Flying Queens after suffering a 78-51 loss to the Raiders of Southern Oregon University in the Second Round of the 2025 NAIA Women's Basketball Championships.
 
 
A Season to Remember
 
"What a season it was. Though I'm disappointed that it has come to an end, I couldn't be prouder of this team.
 
The Journey to a 26-5 record and advancing two rounds in the NAIA Battle for the Red Banner was nothing short of remarkable. This group gave everything they had, and when you step back and reflect on the road they traveled, there's no denying the pride they deserve.
 
Our seniors have cemented their place in the Flying Queens' storied legacy. Kaitlyn and Emily leave behind an incredible mark, having been a part of four National Tournament victories in their careers – an extraordinary feat at this level. Winning at this stage is incredibly difficult, and you'd be hard-pressed to find many Queens in the last 30 years who have matched that accomplishment.
 
Emily played with an unmatched fire, pushing through the final four games of her career with a torn ACL. That kind of selfless dedication to her teammates is simply unbelievable. She gave us four years of relentless effort, proving that size is no measure of heart. Little but mighty, she is destined for great things.
 
Kaitlyn's journey has been equally inspiring. A five-year staple of the program and one of WBU's all-time leading scorers, she battled back from an ACL injury last season to earn First Team All-SAC and NCCAA All-Region honors. Her resilience and determination are nothing short of incredible. Coaching her has been an absolute privilege, and I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity.
 
Linda gave us two unforgettable years, playing with passion and leaving everything on the court. Her impact on our team was invaluable.
 
Kinga and Jaycee poured their hearts into this program, giving their blood, sweat, and tears to the Flying Queens. Their commitment and hard work have been deeply appreciated, and they will always be part of our family.
 
This season was special in so many ways, and one of the most inspiring stories has been watching Megan's rise over the last three years. She has gone from unproven to unstoppable, her dominance on the court is unmatched. She's in the conversation for NAIA Player of the Year and will likely be an All-American once again. In Oregon, she played with every ounce of passion she had, breaking her own single season rebounding record and leading us with heart and determination.
 
This team was more than just a group of players – it was a family. Their journey, their sacrifices, and their victories will be remembered. And while the season may be over, their legacy will live on."
