Plainview --- The Pioneers completed the four-game sweep of Langston by taking both games of Saturday's doubleheader from the Lions. Wayland Baptist secured the 7-3 win in game one, then followed that up with a 3-1 victory in game two.

GAME ONE
Â
After holding the Lions to a 1-2-3 top of the 1
st, Wayland Baptist was able to crack the scoreboard first after
Brooklyn Araujo drove a sacrifice fly to center to make it 1-0.
Addy Rich added another run for the Pioneers with an RBI single to make it 2-0 after the first inning of play.

The Lions were able to score their first run of the game in the top of the 3
rd after an RBI single made it 2-1, WBU.
Â
The Pioneer offense gained the momentum in the bottom of the 4
th, which was started by a two-run double from
Mikenzi Carlo to make it 4-1, WBU.
Cayman Ivins drove in Carlo with an RBI single to left to give the Pioneers a 5-1 lead after four innings.

Mikayla Carrillo added another run for the Pioneers in the bottom of the 5
th with an RBI single that scored Ivins from second to make it 6-1.

Amber Poorbaugh drove in an insurance run for the Pioneers in the bottom of the 6
th after smashing a double to center to score
Christian Moyers and make it 7-1, WBU. The Lions scored two runs in the top of the 7
th, but they were unable to overcome their deficit, and the Pioneers secured the 7-3 win in game one.

Carlo finished game one going 2 for 4 with two doubles, two RBIs, and a run scored. Carrillo went 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored.
Berkley Bradley went 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Addy Rich got the start for the Pioneers in game one and picked up the win to move to 4-6 on the season. Rich threw 6.1 innings, allowing three runs (two earned), two walks, and five strikeouts.

GAME TWO
Â
Wayland Baptist jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1
st inning in game two after Rich hit an RBI groundout that scored Carrillo from third. Araujo added another run for the Pioneers in the bottom of the 4
th after a solo shot to left – her 5
th home run this season – made it 2-0.

Arianna Zubia added an insurance run for the Pioneers in the bottom of the 5
th after driving an RBI single to center to score
Abcde Garcia and make it 3-0, WBU, after five innings.

The Lions were finally able to put a run on the board in the top of the 6
th after an RBI single made it 3-1, but the Pioneers secured the 3-1 win in game two to clinch the sweep of Saturday's doubleheader and four-game sweep of the Lions.

Araujo led the Pioneers offensively in game two by going 2 for 3 with a single and a solo home run. Carrillo went 1 for 3 with a stolen base and a run scored. Garcia went 1 for 2 with a double and a run scored.

Adriana Armstrong was terrific as the game two starter for the Pioneers – throwing 7.0 innings, only allowing one run, two walks, and five strikeouts. With the win, Armstrong now owns a 5-5 record on the season.

The Pioneers will host the Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State University for a four-game Sooner Athletic Conference series with a pair of doubleheaders on Friday, March 28
th and Saturday, March 29
