Plainview --- The NAIA 3
rd ranked Science & Arts (Okla.) Drovers proved to be too overpowering for the Pioneers on Friday as they took both games from Wayland Baptist to secure the 4-0 sweep. The Pioneers fell short, 13-2, in game one, then the Drovers followed that with a 10-1 win in game two.
GAME ONE
Wayland Baptist fell behind early in game one after the Drovers hit a two-run home run in the top of the 1
st to take a 2-0 lead. The Pioneers got a run back in the bottom of the 1
st after
Brooklyn Araujo smashed an RBI triple to score
Arianna Zubia from second to make it 2-1, USAO.
Addy Rich followed that with an RBI sacrifice fly to score Araujo and tie the game up at 2-2.
The Drover offense erupted over the final three innings to put this game out of reach – scoring 11 runs to secure a 13-2 win over Wayland Baptist in game one.
Araujo finished 1 for 2 with a triple, and RBI, and a run scored. Araujo's triple was the lone hit for the Pioneers in game one.
GAME TWO
After neither team was able to score a run in the opening frame, the Drovers continued their torrid hitting in the top of the 2
nd by scoring six runs on seven hits. Araujo got the Pioneers on the board in the bottom of the 3
rd with an RBI double that scored Zubia from first to make it 6-1.
The Drovers answered with two runs in the 4
th and two runs in the 5
th to take a 10-1 lead and secure the game two win, ultimately securing the four-game sweep of the Pioneers.
Araujo finished 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI.

The Pioneers will travel to Fort Worth, Texas for another Sooner Athletic Conference road series against the Rams of Texas Wesleyan University. The two teams will play a pair of doubleheaders on Friday, March 14
th and Saturday, March 15
th. Game one for Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
