Gulf Shores, AL – The Pioneer Beach Volleyball team competed in day one of the AVCA Small College Beach Championships Thursday.
Wayland Baptist was in Pool A with Mobile and Texas A&M-Texarkana. At the end of the day, Mobile won the pool by going 2-0, Wayland was second with a 1-1 record and TAMU-T finished third at 0-2.
In the opening match versus TAMU-T, the Pioneers prevailed 3-2.

The Pioneers faced #1 seed Mobile in the second match, falling 3-1.
Frida Espeseth & Deniz Yileri won 21-13, 21-12.
