Plainview --- The Pioneers combined for 18 runs over the final two innings to secure a 20-3 blowout seven inning run-rule victory over Central Christian. The win clinches the three-game sweep of the Tigers.

Wayland Baptist opened the scoring in the bottom of the 1
st today's finale after senior
Samuel Fabian added onto his home run record after crushing a two-run bomb to left – his SAC-leading 20
th home run on the season – to put the Pioneers ahead 2-0.

The Tigers answered back with one run in each of the next two innings to even up the score at 2-2. Central Christian took a 3-2 lead in the top of the 5
th, but from this moment forward, it was all Pioneers.

The Pioneer offense absolutely erupted over the next two innings, combining for 18 total runs and RBIs from ten different hitters.

The explosion started with an RBI single from
Vann Johnson that tied the game up at 3-3. Johnson then came around to score after
Delvis Claudio smoked an RBI double to left to make it 4-3.
Cooper Jauz followed next with an RBI double to score Claudio and make it 5-3, WBU. Three batters later,
Arturo Nunez drove an RBI double off the right center field wall that extended the Pioneer lead to 6-3. The huge inning was capped off after Fabian scored on a wild pitch followed by an RBI single from
Axel Guerrero made it 8-3, WBU, after five innings of play.

The Pioneers opened the bottom of the 6
th with six straight singles that drove in four total runs to increase their lead to 12-3. After another wild pitch allowed the Pioneers to score another run, Nunez would continue the onslaught with another RBI double that made it 14-3, WBU.

Brayden Peyton got in on the action after smashing an RBI double to left that scored Nunez and increased the Pioneer lead to 15-3.
Riley Watson followed next with a two-run double to make it 17-3.
Sebastian Bravo would deliver the massive blow in the inning after demolishing a three-run blast to right – his 1
st home run this season – that put the Pioneers ahead 20-3.

Jose Escamilla entered in the top of the 7
th and sealed the overwhelming 20-3 victory for the Pioneers to secure the sweep of the Tigers.

Fabian finished today's series finale going 2 for 3 with a home run, three RBIs, a walk, and three runs scored. Claudio went 2 for 4 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Bravo went 1 for 1 with a pinch-hit three run bomb. Nunez finished 2 for 3 with two doubles, two RBIs, a hit by pitch, and two runs scored. Johnson went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Tyson Potts got the start for the Pioneers and was outstanding in his final regular season start of the season. He threw 6.0 innings, allowing three runs, two walks, and 12 strikeouts. Potts picked up the win and is now 3-3 on the season.

Escamilla threw one scoreless inning in relief with no hits, no walks, and two strikeouts.

With the win, the Pioneers capped off the best season in program history with a 34-14 overall record and 22-5 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.

The Pioneers will now wait until Tuesday, April 22
nd for the reveal of the 2025 SAC Baseball Tournament bracket to see who will travel to Plainview to take on the Pioneers. The Pioneers will host the Opening Round of the SAC Tournament on Friday, April 25
th with a doubleheader scheduled for a time to be determined.
