Rico Yarbrough and
Jamari Lawrence give the Pioneers a clean sweep of this week's SAC Digital Scoreboards Men's Basketball Player of the Week awards, per the Sooner Athletic Conference offices.
A junior from Beloit, Wisconsin, Yarbrough earned Offensive Player of the Week after playing a vital role in the Pioneers going 2-0 this past weekend, including a win over
RV Oklahoma City. Across two games played, Yarbrough averaged 26.5 ppg on 60% shooting from the floor and 10 reb/g.
In the Pioneers 88-85 comeback win over Southwestern Christian, Yarbrough scored 29 points with 11 rebounds. He followed that up with 24 points, 9 rebounds, two blocks, and two steals against
RV Oklahoma City.
Lawrence, a senior from Dallas, Texas, was a menace on the defensive side of the ball for the Pioneers in their two wins this past weekend. He finished the weekend with an astounding 10 steals, a block, and eight defensive rebounds.
He began the weekend with four steals and a block in the win over SCU, then responded with 6 more steals in their huge win over OCU.
The Pioneers will take the floor again on Monday, January 19
th, when they play host to Oklahoma Panhandle State University. The game is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:00 PM at the Hutcherson Center.
