Oklahoma City – The Sooner Athletic Conference announces that OUAZ will forfeit its football contest against Wayland Baptist, which was played on Saturday, September 5.
OUAZ won the contest over the Pioneers 56-14, but after a self-report by OUAZ and a thorough review by the Sooner following the game, it was determined that the Spirit played an ineligible player in the win.
The game will go into the record books as a 2-0 victory for Wayland Baptist, but the statistics for the game will continue to be reflected for each team. The Spirit's record is now 3-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference, while Wayland Baptist's overall record will now be 4-2 and 3-1 in the conference.
