FORT WORTH --- The #19 Wayland Baptist University Pioneers traveled to Fort Worth, Texas over the weekend to compete in the SAC Conference Tournament. The Men came away with a runner-up team placement behind #4 Oklahoma City University. Texas Wesleyan finished 12 points behind WBU to round out the top three.

Emmett Bivens led the way for the pioneers, defeating former Bellator World Champion Rafael Lovato Jr. of OCU in the finals. #10

Jaden Two Lance, and
Jaykob Mills all amassed runner-up finishes. #20
Dayne Stormer and
Joseph Fuentes both took home third place.Â

Lewis, Two Lance, and Bivens all secured automatic qualification for the National Tournament, hosted in Wichita, KS on March 5-7.

Stormer, Ortegon, and Mills all received consideration for an at-large bid to the National Tournament. The decision for at-large bids will be released early this week.Â

The Pioneers leave on Tuesday, March 3rd, for the national tournament, giving them a little over a week of preparation.
