PLAINVIEW -- The Wayland Baptist Pioneers delivered a complete performance on Friday, sweeping Oklahoma Panhandle State in a doubleheader that showcased timely hitting, late-game execution, and dominant pitching.

Game 1: Walk-Off Magic Lifts Pioneers, 7-6
Wayland Baptist opened the day with a dramatic 7-6 victory, rallying in the bottom of the seventh to secure the win.
The Pioneers came out swinging early, plating four runs in the first inning behind RBI contributions from
Christian Toledo,
Arcadio Martinez,
Rafaeleduardo Garcia, and
Raphael Beltre. That early surge gave Wayland Baptist a 4-0 advantage and set the tone offensively.
Garcia continued his big day in the third inning, launching a solo home run to extend the lead to 5-2. He finished 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and a walk, leading the Pioneers at the plate.
Despite the strong start, OPSU battled back and eventually took a 6-5 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh. That's when the Pioneers responded.
Christian Toledo ignited the rally with a leadoff single and aggressive baserunning, eventually scoring on a sacrifice fly from
Arcadio Martinez to tie the game. Moments later,
Ben Kasparie delivered the walk-off RBI on a fielder's choice, scoring
Kanade Honda and sealing the 7-6 victory.
On the mound,
Tyler Thompson earned the win in relief, tossing a scoreless seventh inning to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Game 2: Seibert Dominates as Pioneers Complete Sweep, 5-2
Wayland Baptist carried that momentum into game two, using a strong start and dominant pitching to secure a 5-2 victory and complete the sweep.
The Pioneers wasted no time getting on the board, scoring twice in the first inning.
Sebastian Bravo sparked the offense with a single and came around to score, while
Adonis Bernal added a solo home run to make it 2-0 early.
Wayland Baptist continued to build its lead, adding one run in the second and two more in the third.
Sinclair Pimentel and
Rafaeleduardo Garcia each drove in runs during that stretch, while
Ben Kasparie added another RBI as part of a balanced offensive effort.
Kasparie led the Pioneers with a 2-for-3 performance and an RBI, while
Christian Toledo also recorded two hits and scored a run.
The story of game two, however, was
Branin Seibert. The southpaw delivered a complete-game performance, allowing just four hits and two runs while striking out 10 batters over seven innings. Seibert improved to 4-3 on the season with the dominant outing.
